Girls AFL Eastern Metropolitan Region Finals 

On Thursday 13th August, our Girls ‘A’ AFL team competed in the Eastern Metropolitan Region AFL Finals. The event had been postponed due to heavy rain the previous few days and was rescheduled to Eildon Park in Rowville.

The girls had a fantastic start to the day, winning all three of their pool games against Templestowe Heights PS, Mount Scopus PS and Monbulk PS.

In the afternoon, the girls faced a strong Kew East PS team in the semi-final. It was a great game, with the girls showing plenty of determination and teamwork. Unfortunately, they went down 34–21.

Playing off for third place, the girls met Mount Scopus PS again. It was a tough and physical game, with the girls showing great determination and putting in a strong effort. They eventually secured the win, finishing 3rd overall in the Eastern Metropolitan Region – an outstanding achievement! 

The girls thoroughly enjoyed the day and gained an amazing experience competing at such a high level. We are incredibly proud of their efforts, sportspersonship and teamwork.

A huge thank you to Mr Edgcumbe for coaching the girls and to all the parents who helped with transport and came along to support the team.

Well done, girls! What an incredible achievement!
