EISM Finals Series
As we approach the conclusion of the EISM winter season, Kilvington has enjoyed an outstanding period of success across both the Senior and Year 8/9 Sport programs.
Our Senior teams have produced a remarkable finals campaign, with 9 of our 14 teams progressing through to the EISM semi-finals.
This is a significant achievement and a wonderful reflection of the commitment of our students, coaches and staff. To have such a high proportion of teams competing in the final stages of the competition is one of the strongest collective performances we have seen in recent years.

Our Years 8 and 9 teams have also performed exceptionally well, with 5 teams advancing to the semi-finals. This highlights the depth of talent emerging through the middle years and provides a strong foundation for future success in the senior program.
With the semi-finals now complete, Kilvington has celebrated a number of strong results, with six teams recording wins in their final matches.

Sarah Selected for Victorian AFL Team
A special congratulations to Sarah Sigismundi on her selection in the Victorian School Sport (VSS) AFL team, which travelled to Canberra last week to compete in the national championships.
Sarah represented both Victoria and Kilvington with distinction throughout the tournament and had an excellent championship campaign. The Victorian team was dominant across the week, recording impressive victories against the Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and Western Australia before meeting South Australia in the final.

Although Victoria fell short in the final and finished with the silver medal, Sarah’s performance across the tournament was outstanding. Her selection and success at this level are a wonderful achievement, and a source of great pride for the Kilvington community. It was a very special week for everyone involved, and we congratulate Sarah on an exceptional representative experience.
EISM Cross Country Program
Following the success of the House Cross Country, preparations are now well underway for the EISM Cross Country Championships on Wednesday 9 September.
We have commenced a dedicated training program with sessions taking place twice a week at EE Gunn Reserve. The squad has already grown to approximately 60 students, which is an outstanding level of interest and involvement.
Training is being led by Emma McLaren alongside our new running coach, Max Johnstone, who we are delighted to welcome to the program this year. Max is a high-level state hockey player across two states and brings extensive experience in coaching athletics and cross country, including work with the Tasmanian Institute of Sport. He has a wealth of knowledge to share, and students are encouraged to make the most of this fantastic opportunity to learn, improve and challenge themselves.
The strong numbers and positive engagement at these early sessions are extremely encouraging and reflect the growing enthusiasm for cross country within the Kilvington community.
David Makes His Mark on the World Stage
Congratulations to David on an outstanding result at a major junior golf tournament in San Diego USA over the holiday break.
Founded 40 years ago, this is the world’s longest running, most internationally inclusive and largest junior golf tournament. The prestigious three day, 54 hole event brought together 1,250 of the world’s top junior golfers from 56 countries, selected from around 15,000 young golfers who competed in qualifying rounds.
David finished an incredible sixth in the world, earning a wildcard entry into next year’s championship. The result also adds valuable points to David’s World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), marking another fantastic achievement in his golfing journey. Congratulations, David!
