Diary of a 3A Student

Dear Diary,

In Reading, we have been giggling and laughing over the escapades of Henry McThrottle and his peers in Andy Griffiths’ book “Treasure Fever”, a funny, and often hilarious adventure novel set in a school called Northwest Southeast Central School. We are analysing the author’s comedic choices, identifying character traits and developments, and are answering literal, inferential, and beyond the text questions related to the book. Today, our teacher asked “Do you think Henry's plan was ultimately worth the effort, given the group still didn't find the treasure? Explain your thinking.” Needless to say, many hands went up. 

In maths, we have been busy estimating, measuring, comparing, and reading capacity. These hands-on activities saw us engage with various objects and items while our teacher probably wanted to show us the link between school and the real world. In addition, we have been learning about the features of 3D objects and specific vocabulary, such as vertices, faces, edges, bases - pretty fun stuff and just another proof that math is all around us! 

This term has been flying and the Writer’s Festival is approaching fast. In class, we have been busy working on our own scripts and filming our own advertisements. Those clips will be on display during the Festival and we can’t wait to share it with the Bell PS community.

I think that’s all for now. I better get some rest, we have Spelling in the first session.  

Art Room News

Prep artists have celebrated their 100 days of Prep by making some pop up cake paintings. They painted paper, decorated it with paint pens, folded it and made it pop out. These finished artworks are on display in the office, the foyer, the art room and the learning centre for all to appreciate.
