The Story Behind Our Foyer Artwork
Last week, we shared an image of the beautiful new artwork in our foyer. In this week’s newsletter, we are pleased to share the accompanying Dreaming story, created by artist Simone Thomson, on our First Nations Connections page.
The story will be shared at assembly this afternoon, providing an opportunity for students to learn more about the inspiration behind Bunjil Biik and the important First Nations connections represented through the artwork.
We encourage families to take some time to read the Dreaming story and learn more about the meaning and inspiration behind this significant artwork in our school foyer.
Grade 4 Camp: Adventure, Fun and Plenty of Mud!
What an incredible time our Grade 4 students had at camp! It was a fantastic few days filled with adventure, teamwork, laughter and plenty of opportunities to explore the beautiful bush.
Students threw themselves into a range of activities, including hut making, Grow It Cook It, bush walks, campfires and numerous bike rides. The bike rides were a particular highlight, with students enthusiastically riding through the bush and, much to their delight, straight through the puddles! We apologise to families for the very muddy clothes that made their way home- we hope they were a sign of just how much fun was had!
Throughout the camp, students demonstrated resilience, cooperation and a wonderful willingness to give new things a go. They supported one another, embraced the challenges and created some fantastic memories together.
A huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers Andrew, Anthony, Arthur, Jess and Marc, for giving their time and supporting our students throughout the camp. We are also very grateful to our staff Kerry, Nicki, Daniel and Paul for attending and supporting the students.
Special thanks to Ramzey for coordinating the many details in the lead up to camp, and to James for his fantastic support of our school Bike Ed program in preparation for the students' bike riding adventures.
It was a wonderful camp, and we are so proud of the way our Grade 4 students embraced every challenge, enjoyed the outdoors and, most importantly, had a great time together.
Bell Primary 2026 Writers’ Festival
Tuesday 25 August | 3.00–4.30pm:
Next Tuesday 25 August, we will celebrate our 2026 Writers’ Festival - a whole school celebration of learning for Term 3. We look forward to welcoming families to celebrate the wonderful writing, creativity and hard work of our young authors.
Each grade has focused on a particular writing theme or style, resulting in a diverse and exciting collection of work that showcases the creativity, imagination and talent of our students.
To help you make the most of your visit, a program and map are available on the School Insights page of this newsletter. These were also shared via the Compass Newsfeed earlier this week. The program will show you where each class is located, along with their genre focus, to help you plan your visit and discover the wide range of writing on display.
Important Information for Families:
The Writers’ Festival will run from 3.00–4.30pm
Students will remain in their regular classrooms until 3.30pm
From 3.30pm, students are welcome to explore the festival with their families and visit other classrooms
Students attending after-school care will head across to TeamKids as usual at 3.30pm
We look forward to seeing families at the festival and celebrating the wonderful achievements of our young writers!
