Grade 4

Literacy

In Literacy, students have finished reading Storm Boy and reflected on the key themes and messages explored throughout the novella. They have also completed our Information Report unit, finalising their reports by writing engaging paragraphs and a compelling conclusion about the Coorong.

In Spelling, students have been learning about possessive apostrophes and developing their understanding of when to use an apostrophe before or after the suffix ‘s’ to show ownership.

Numeracy

In Numeracy, the Grade 4 students have been developing their understanding of fractions and decimals. They have been identifying equivalent fractions, comparing and ordering fractions on number lines, and using bar models to represent fractions of numbers. Students have also explored the relationship between fractions and division and practised converting between fractions and decimals. 

Grade 4 Sport

In Grade 4 Sports, students have been participating in volleyball, tennis, basketball and cricket rotations. They have enjoyed the opportunity to engage in more physical activity once a fortnight.
