Connections to Country

NAIDOC Week at Lowanna

'The Next Generation – Strength, Vision & Legacy'

Late last term our college came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week with a powerful and engaging day of learning, culture and connection, centred around the theme 'The Next Generation – Strength, Vision & Legacy.' We were honoured to have Michelle Dow open our day with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, followed by a captivating performance by the Dejeetung girls, who shared cultural stories through traditional dance. We had a free sausage sizzle cooked by some of our amazing students, bringing everyone together over a shared meal.

It was a day of unity, pride and deep respect. A big thank you to Michelle Dow, the Dejeetung girls, our staff, students and everyone who contributed to making it such a special event.
