Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Australian Government has recently launched a new resource.  The ‘Let’s Stop Bullying’ website brings together free, expert-developed resources for parents and carers, children and young people.  The resources are part of the Australian Government’s response to the Anti-Bullying Rapid Review and the new National Framework for Addressing Bullying in Australian Schools.  The Review found that bullying can have significant and long-term impacts on young people, and that more needs to be done to support school communities to prevent bullying and respond when it occurs.  Resources for parents, carers and school-aged young people are available now at LetsStopBullying.gov.au with additional resources for teachers, school leaders and non-teaching staff to be released later this year.  I urge all parents, carers and students to find some time to explore the website and the resources available.  Please never hesitate to contact us at the College if you feel that your daughter is experiencing any bullying at all as we have a zero tolerance of this type of behaviour.

Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences (SPT Conferences)

Just a reminder that as per the College Calendar, the first SPT Conference afternoon for Semester 2 will be on Monday, 24 August.   On this day, classes will conclude at 1.35pm with the Conferences being held from 3.30pm – 8.30pm.  The second of the SPT Conference sessions will be taking place on Wednesday, 26 August. This day is a ‘Student Free Day’ with Conferences taking place from 8:30am – 4:30pm.  All conferences will be online.  Thank you to the many parents who have booked Conferences with teachers. There are just on 2200 meetings booked.  We look forward to fruitful conversations so we can continue to work together to give your daughter the opportunity to perform at her best.  Students are highly encouraged to be part of the Conferences.

Further to this, please note that Tuesday, 25 August is a Student Free Day.  This is a ‘Time in Lieu’ day for teaching staff for the SPT Conferences.

Parents' Association – Fathers’ Day Breakfast

A reminder that members of the Parents' Association are in the process of organising the annual Fathers’ Day Breakfast.  It will be a wonderful morning where fathers (grandfathers, brothers, guardians, carers) and daughters can come together in a relaxed environment to have a cup of tea or coffee and a muffin or croissant, and just spend an hour or so relaxing and mingling with other dads.  Apart from some musical interludes, we have also secured the services of guest speaker, Ms Ruby Tripodi. 

Ruby joined the AFLW for North Melbourne in 2023, after three standout seasons — and back-to-back best and fairest awards — with Williamstown in the VFLW.   Since then, she's transformed herself from a forward into one of the competition's toughest inside midfielders, known for her work ethic, her pressure around the ball and her willingness to do the hard stuff that doesn't always show up on the highlights reel.  She has been a key part of North Melbourne's midfield engine room across back-to-back premierships in 2024 and 2025 — and she's done it all while studying nutrition science at Monash University.  Ruby will conduct a Q&A session and she will be happy to take any questions from the audience.

The breakfast is scheduled to take place on Friday, 4 September from 7:00am – 8:30am in the Dillon Centre. 

The cost is $18 per attendee.  Please remember to book for your daughter as well.

Mercy Day BBQ Helpers – Friday, 11 September 

A massive thank you to all parents who have emailed me indicating their desire and availability to assist with cooking the BBQ on Mercy Day.   t this point we do not require any further volunteers.
