Grade 3/4 News

It’s been a busy end to the term in LC3 with lot’s going on including the biannual Performing Arts Showcase, Mad Science Day and upcoming Travel Expo for Integrated projects.

Students shared their learning from instrumental music lessons by performing a short piece that they have been practising in class for the Performing Arts Showcase. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop performance practices including the process of rehearsal, working towards a goal and performing in a more formal setting to an audience. Students shared their learning on instruments from keyboard, voice, violin, drums, guitar and as well as Dance Troupe. Well done to students who performed and thank you to parents who were able to make time to come and support by watching in our audience.

The other week we held a ‘Mad Science’ house day with a focus on one of our Silverton School values, ‘Curiosity’. Students were encouraged to be creative and dress up in a ‘curious’ style for the day. Students participated in various activities in the learning centre and also attended an incursion where various engaging and reactive experiments were demonstrated. 

Students have been working hard on their Integrated projects and getting ready to present their ‘Travel Booths’, set to be displayed this Thursday afternoon. They have worked in groups to research topics including population, animals, food, weather/terrain and climate for a designated continent. Their projects will be set up during the day on Thursday and open in the afternoon to parents and students from other learning centres.
