Athletics Carnival News
During the past three weeks, the sports team have been busy finalising the field events from our Athletics Carnival held a few weeks ago. I am pleased to let you all know that we are now complete and that next Friday 12 June, at the whole school assembly, we will be presenting our Age Champions and runners up for each age group. We will also announce the Zone carnival team. Next week's newsletter will have these lists as well.
Once again, I thank everyone for your patience and understanding while we worked through this process.
Lots happening in sport around the globe so I thought I'd do a bit of a recap for some inspiration!
- Rugby League News: NSW wins first State of Origin game after a controversial send off for QLD! Do you agree with the referee's choice?
- AFL News: The mighty Sydney Swans have proved why they are a top contender for the flag this year by defeating the Richmond Tigers by a mammoth 114 points at the SCG. The highlight was an eight goal bag from star forward, Charlie Curnow.
- Soccer News: Lucas Herrington, 18, will become the 11th-youngest player at the 2026 World Cup. That's only 6 years older than some of our Year six students!
Do you play sport on the weekend? Send in your sports achievements and we'll feature them in the Holy Family newsletter!
