Grandparents' Day
Today, we gathered together as a school community to celebrate all our grandparents. We rejoiced in the gift that they are in our lives. We also welcomed all who care for children - mothers, fathers, stepparents, uncles, aunties, Godparents, family and friends. We acknowledged them for sharing their wisdom and their knowledge, and also for nurturing in us a sense of wonder and awe. We praised and thanked God for them in our lives; for the example of goodness and the strength and protection they bring to our families. Like God, they lead us and guide us along the right path. We also remembered in a special way our grandparents and grand friends who are no longer with us; those who are now with God in Heaven.
A Prayer
Loving God,
you gift us with grandparents who give us love.
They show us a glimpse of what you are like and the unconditional love you have for us.
As we honour all grandparents and grand friends on this day,
we pray that you bless these precious people who are close to your heart.

"Pray As You Go" app for families to do the Examen at home
This is a great prayer app put out by the Jesuits to help you pray as you go about your daily living. It has wonderful, recorded prayer offerings to guide you and your family in prayer - the "Discover" icon down the bottom of the home page has a special Examen section so that you can use it with your children at the end of the day as part of the bedtime routine.
St Vincent de Paul Snack Pack Appeal
The student leaders will be asking you as families next week to make at least one snack pack for the homeless of Sydney whom St Vincent de Paul look after. The parent team that goes out once a month to do Brekky Van will be able to take the packs on their shift and personally hand these packs to those in need. Each snack pack has four items in them and they are very specific items . Please see the guideline below. This is a beautiful way for your family to do something tangible and positive for the homeless this winter. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Bring your packs in and place in tubs in the office labelled "Snack Packs."
