Miss Ellis and Team Vic success

A few weeks ago, I attended the School Sport Australia Games in Ballarat with the 12 Girls Team Vic Football (Soccer) team. My role with the team is Team Manager. We select the team from students from schools all over Victoria and train with them in the lead up to the games. At the games we play against all the states and territories in a round robin competition.

The games this year involved 7 different sports and over 1500 athletes competing. We were part of an opening ceremony with all the athletes and officials, which was an incredible experience to be part of.  We also attended Sovereign Hill for our educational excursion.

This year the Victorian team won 6 games and lost 1 game to place 2nd and receive a silver medal!  The boys team also placed 2nd at the tournament.

The competition is a great way to be a part of the elite level of sport for young people and see such fantastic talent at a young age.  I feel very fortunate to get to be part of this experience!
