Taking his mountain biking skills across the world!

 

A big congratulations to Dylan (Year 10) who recently travelled to Japan to compete in his first international mountain bike race. Representing Australia, Dylan placed third in his race and receoived a bronze medal.

A big congratulations to Joe Potter (Year 8), Hudson Direen (Year 7) and Charlie Gibson (Year 10) who have been selected to be members of the Surfing Tasmania School Surfing Team to compete at the Australian Junior Titles – Schools Division to be held in Wollongong.

Congratulations to Noah Viney (Year 8), Harriet Perkins, and Indi Page (Year 7), who represented Tasmania in the Under 14 Touch Football team at the 2025 DoorDash National Youth Championships held in Coffs Harbour.

 

This marked the second and third time representing the state for these talented athletes, showcasing their dedication and skill at a national level. Notably, Noah Viney was honoured with the role of team captain, leading the Thunder 14s Boys’ Team with pride and determination.

 

The tournament provided a great experience, allowing the students to play alongside peers from across Tasmania and compete against strong teams from around the country.

Despite the tough competition, the players gained valuable insights and skills, making it a memorable and enriching experience.

 

Congratulations to Noah, Harriet, and Indi on their achievements and for representing MacKillop College with excellence!

Congratulations to Natasha Williams (Year 12) who has been selected to represent Tasmania in the Senior Women’s Echidnas Volleyball team to participate at the Volleyball Championships to be held in Sydney.

Harry Bresnehan (Year 10) has been selected as one of only two competitors chosen to represent Australia at the 2025 FIA Karting Arrive and Drive World Cup held at the LYL International Circuit in Selangor, Malaysia. He will be competing against others from all around the world in the senior class aged 14 - 19.

Well done to Hannah Richards (Year 8) who recently returned from the 2025 Pony Club Australia National Championships. The Tasmania Team even brought home a win in Showjumping.

Kye Ford (Year 11) also who recently returned from the 2025 Pony Club Australia National Championships. With his horse Bobby they won the National Junior 80cm show jump Championship. Team Tasmania also took out the Champion Team for Junior 80cm Show Jump.  Kye also participated in Sydney in September prior to Werribee in the Equestrian Australian Inter Schools Champs. This was his first time representing the state.

Congratulations to James Kirkham on his selection to represent Tasmania at the Discount Warehouse All Schools National Athletics Championships to be held in Melbourne.
