Term 3 Sport Report
Mrs Kathy Berg
It has been an action-packed few weeks for our student athletes, with outstanding achievements across a range of sports. From cross country to AFL and basketball, our students have shown remarkable determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship while proudly representing the College.
The absolute highlight of the term was our Girls Football Team winning the State Final — an incredible accomplishment and a moment of great pride for our entire College community. We are delighted to celebrate this and many other achievements below
State Cross Country A huge congratulations to Hannah, Jessika, and Dakota on their outstanding performances at the State Cross Country Championships! Each of them gave their absolute best, showing remarkable determination, resilience, and a true commitment to excellence. What an inspiring achievement — well done!
Year 8 Football We’re so proud of our Year 8 Boys AFL Team, who finished Runners-Up in the NMR Final! The boys displayed incredible teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship, taking on tough opponents and leaving everything out on the field. A fantastic effort and an achievement to be celebrated!
Intermediate Basketball Congratulations to our Intermediate Boys and Girls Basketball teams for being crowned Division Champions! Their hard work, teamwork, and determination truly paid off. We’re excited to see them continue their journey as they go on to represent the College at NMR — best of luck!
Year 8 Basketball Our Year 8 Basketball teams had a brilliant day at Division. The girls team went undefeated to secure their spot at NMR, while the boys team missed out by the narrowest of margins — just 1 point! Both teams played exceptionally well, proudly demonstrating our College values of Courage, Aspiration, and Respect.
State Champions – Girls Football Team
What an extraordinary achievement for our Girls Football Team, who have been crowned State Champions!
Across the entire campaign — from Division right through to the State Final — the girls were outstanding, conceding only three goals in ten games, a true testament to their skill, determination, and teamwork. In the State Championship Final, they faced a powerhouse opponent who had never lost a game, and through sheer effort, belief, and resilience, our girls created history by securing the win.
Throughout the year, the team displayed exceptional skill, camaraderie, and an undeniable passion for both the sport and each other.
A special mention must go to their coach, Laura Frazer. Laura’s knowledge, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the team have been second to none. Her ability to bring out the best in every player has been a driving force behind this success, and our girls are incredibly fortunate to have such a passionate and knowledgeable coach guiding them.
We could not be prouder of what these young athletes have achieved — their victory will be remembered as one of the great highlights in our College’s sporting history.
Well done to all our student athletes — your commitment, passion, and sportsmanship continue to make our College community proud!
