Assistant Principal's Report
Inclusion, Engagement and Wellbeing
Mr Louis Turner
This term has been full of growth and achievement at Greensborough College, and I want to take a moment to highlight some of the positive steps we’ve made.
Earlier this term, our Year 7–9 students took part in the Digital Thumbprint program, exploring the importance of online safety, digital responsibility, and respectful behaviour. The feedback from students was excellent, and it is encouraging to see these important conversations resonating strongly.
We also recently celebrated the Semester One Awards, where students were recognised for their academic achievement, effort, and demonstration of our school values: Courage, Aspiration, Respect, and Equality. It was a special occasion to pause and celebrate not just individual success, but also the collective effort of our students, families, and staff who contribute to a thriving learning community.
In addition, we are seeing encouraging results from our continued focus on student attendance. On average, absences per student have dropped by three days this year, and unexplained absences have more than halved. Every day in the classroom matters, and these gains are helping our students to stay connected to their learning.
Looking ahead, our VCE practice exams in late September will give students a valuable opportunity to prepare for their final assessments. I encourage our senior students to approach these with focus, while also balancing study with wellbeing.
Thank you to all families, staff, and students for the ongoing commitment to our shared values.
