Senior School Report

Mr Anthony Ellu

As Term 3 draws to a close, our senior students have been busily engaged in their studies and co-curricular activities.

Year 12 students are working extremely hard as they prepare for their final assessments. It is vital that they continue with this level of commitment over the coming weeks. September school holiday practice exams will take place in the first week of the holidays, with a detailed timetable to be released shortly. These practice exams are an important part of preparation, providing valuable feedback for both students and teachers as we approach the end of the year.

Year 10 students have made a positive start to the semester after a busy end to Semester 2. The close of the semester saw a number of exciting events, including their mid-year exams and the highly anticipated Year 10 Formal. Students have also made their 2026 VCE pathway selections, an exciting milestone that begins their journey toward senior studies and life beyond school.

Year 11 students recently participated in course counselling meetings with the senior school team as they prepare for their Year 12 program in 2026. They also celebrated their annual Debutant Ball, which was a highlight of the term. Many hours of practice went into preparing for this event, and the students should be proud of the way they presented themselves and performed on the evening. Year 11 students shared, “The Deb Ball was such a special night. It was amazing to celebrate with our friends and see all our hard work pay off on the dance floor.” It was wonderful to see the students looking so confident and proud — a real milestone for them.

Looking ahead, the Year 11 and Year 12 Formal will take place on Wednesday, 3rd September. This promises to be a wonderful celebration, particularly for our Year 12 students as they mark the final chapter of their secondary school journey. A special thank you also goes to Mr Pearson and Ms Fogarty for their dedication and effort in organising this significant event.

Finally, we would like to extend a very big thank you to all staff who attended and supported the Year 11 Debutant Ball. Your presence helped make the evening such a success. In particular, we acknowledge Ms Godby and Ms Thomson, who proudly presented the students on the night. The way staff supported and celebrated with the students made the evening even more memorable. Your commitment and support are greatly appreciated.
