16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM @HPSC

In the final weeks of 2024, the HPSC Community united for the global 16 Days of Activism Campaign - an imitative that has advocated against abuse and inequality faced by Women and Girls around the world for over 33 years. HPSC added its voice to the conversation, with a series of lunchtime activities coordinated by the Wellbeing Team and local organisations such as Victoria Police, Southeast Community Links, and the Australian Muslim Women’s Centre for Human Rights. We began with a school-wide Walk on November 26, where staff and students marched in solidarity for the campaign and made some huge noise! During the campaign, we hosted two Sports Sessions to promote inclusion and equality in sports, and last Friday concluded it with an Arts Session, where students expressed how they show respect through painting a mural, making badges, and making a Pledge of Respect. Thanks to everyone involved this year! We look forward to an even bigger and better event in 2025! 🔶🎗

BREAKFAST CLUB WRAPPED-UP

Wrapping-Up (pun absolutely intended) the Breakfast Club program for 2024 - we've shared conversations, laughs, passions over daily Breakky, served hot and fresh up in the Wellness Centre. Thanks to a wide variety of Teachers, Education Support Staff and Volunteers, we've delivered a place for students to connect and access nutritional fuel every school morning this year. Over the year, we've served a staggering 7,580 meals! The Wellbeing Team are incredibly thankful to the generosity of staff for their assistance, to FoodBank and Eat-Up for your partnership and support, and we look forward to serving up more smiles in 2025! 🥣🍮🍳

A FULL CALANDER FOR THE WELLBEING TEAM

Throughout the year, the Wellbeing Team have worked hard to bring in a variety of Social and Emotional Learning Programs to help bolster the skills, confidence, and capabilities of our students. We've hosted multiple Mentoring-programs, Lunchtime clubs, Leadership Opportunities, Mental Health and Behaviour Support Programs; among Whole-School Celebration Days, and other activities in our school community. We're excited to continue supporting our students in the new year, continuing to cater for the range of needs our cohort present with, and offering them pathways to growth and success. 📓🎓

The Holidays can be a great time for us to all connect with people and activities we love! However, it's normal to still feel challenged, experience Ups & Downs, and to want support, over the holidays. Take a look at some support services below. Local Youth Organisations hold a huge variety of Youth-Friendly activities over the End of Year Holidays! City of Casey Youth Services' hold a great roster of programs and low-cost/free activities and days out - check them out here, and register quickly, as spots are already filling!

MOVEMBER WAS A MAMMOTH SUCCESS!

Our very own Mo-Bro's strutted their 'staches throughout November and celebrated the end of the nationwide campaign in Week 9 with a public shave-off, a Pin-The-Moustache on the Assistant Principal game, and giveaways with a Movember Quiz. Overall, the HPSC Team raised $745 for important programs, research and interventions around Men's Mental Health and Cancers. Rumour has it that they plan to come back bigger and better in November 2025!

ORIENTATION DAY FOR 2025's YEAR 7s!

Tuesday was a massive day, having our future Year 7s visit the college for their first official day! Year 7s joined school staff for a trial of their future classes, and enjoyed an incredible BBQ for lunch, along with a taste of some of the Lunchtime games and clubs on offer. We look forward to seeing you all in 2025!
