OUR FAITH

PRAYER

Dear Lord,

I know you receive what is in my heart. Let me be inspired by your words

and by the actions of your son, Jesus. Guide me to make sacrifices this Lent

in the spirit of self-denial and with greater attention to you and to those around me.

Help me to believe that you will grant me this because of the sacrifice Jesus made for me.

Amen

We pray ...

for.......Pope Leo, for our school community, as we continue to pray, give and reflect on our words and actions through the season of Lent.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

This morning, our school community gathered on the oval to walk the Stations of the Cross, reflecting on the final day of Jesus’ life and the sacrifice he made for us all.

Each class moved through fourteen stations. Every stop followed a four-part path: a name, a reflection, a prayer, and a call to action. We are proud of the respect our students showed as they paused at each cross to contemplate Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem.

While we remember the solemnity of his death today, we do so with hope—looking forward to the joy of his Resurrection on Easter morning.

FAMILY MASSES

Thank you to all of the Year 5 and Year 1 families who attended our Family Mass on Sunday. This was a very special mass as it was Palm Sunday. It was also an enrolment mass for First Eucharist and First Reconciliation candidates. It was so wonderful to see so many people in our church celebrating these special occasions.

Reconciliation and Class Visits

This term, we have been extremely blessed to have Fr Chris and Fr Clarence visit our classes and allow students to attend Reconciliation. We thank them for their time and spiritual guidance.

CHRISM MASS

On Tuesday, we joined our wider diocesan family at the Cathedral in Armidale for the Chrism Mass, and it was a truly significant occasion for our school community. We were blessed to gather with Most Reverend Bishop Peter Murphy and our Diocesan Priests as Bishop Murphy blessed and consecrated the holy oils to be used for the sacraments in our parishes and schools throughout the coming year. We would like to express our pride in the 48 Confirmation Candidates who travelled to Armidale to represent St Nicholas. Our students participated with a profound sense of respect throughout the mass. It was an absolute privilege to take this group to this Mass. They were outstanding ambassadors for our school, and we couldn't be prouder of the way they conducted themselves.

MINI VINNIES

In the spirit of service, our Mini Vinnies group has been busy spreading Easter joy by handcrafting cards for the residents at BUPA. With a focus on compassion and community connection, the students poured their hearts into these colourful messages of hope and friendship. We hope these small tokens of kindness bring a bright smile and a sense of warmth to the residents at BUPA as we celebrate the Easter season.
