Black and Green Aggregate Shield

The winter season officially kicks off on Saturday with the annual fixtures against local rivals Trinity Grammar School for the Black and Green Aggregate Shield. Not only do these fixtures allow for the opportunity to play our first matches of Rugby, Football and Tennis but it gives all our teams something to play for.

We are the current holders of the Black and Green Aggregate Shield, and we will be looking to retain the Shield on Saturday. All fixtures are important with each winning team collecting a point contributing to the overall point score to decide who gets to lift the Shield at the end of the day. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing in the First XV Rugby or the 13G Football, all games play significant importance for the outcome.

The day also provides an opportunity to trial against different opposition to help with the final decisions on team selections moving into the ISA competition.

It is also the Supporters’ Day for Years 5 and 6. Year 5 are required to support the Football teams playing on SPC2 and SPC3 from 8:45 AM – 12 noon. Year 6 are required to support the Rugby teams playing on Breen Oval from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM.

It is my hope that ALL students will either stay or return to school to support their school at the conclusion of their fixtures. Big crowds and loud support are expected, and we hope the mantra of ‘You Play, You Stay’ can be implemented for this weekend and throughout the 2026 winter season and beyond.

Students are reminded of the expectations of supporting and watching other games including wearing the correct attire, gathering in the right areas and showing sportsmanship both on and off the field.

The P&F will be running barbeques so please support this throughout the day.

Good luck to all teams – we look forward to lifting the shield at the end of the day!

Congratulations

Congratulations to Jack R who participated in the NSW State Athletics Championships last weekend for Triple Jump. He jumped a personal best (which was previously over 12m!!)  and won a silver medal and will be going to the nationals in April.

Well done Jack!
