Learning and Curriculum Primary - Stage 3

Coding Champion
Jake B of 6 Green was recently recognised at a year meeting for his outstanding achievement in the UNSW Robotics Coding Challenge, sponsored by the UNSW Women in Construction project, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Office for Women, and MRT Robotics. Jake competed alongside his cousin, and together they were tasked with designing and coding a game themed around natural disaster.
We were thrilled to learn that Jake placed second in the competition—an exceptional result! It is inspiring to see our students embracing opportunities in STEM and developing the skills of future innovators
Religious Education
Earlier this term in the Liturgical Year units, students learnt about Lent as a time of spiritual growth and conversion, Holy Week where the Church remembers the rejection, suffering and death of Jesus and Easter celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus and a time of hope and new life. Having this knowledge and understanding will be critically important as we continue to journey through this important liturgical season.
Year 5
Currently, students are exploring the Bible as our Sacred Scripture, particularly the formation and structure of the Bible.
Year 6
Currently, students are exploring the significance of the synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) and how the writers portray Jesus. Students will come to recognise the Gospels are a record of Christ’s life and teaching. They will come to recognise and understand that the synoptic Gospels, as sacred texts, help us encounter the person of Jesus Christ and deepen our relationship with God.
