Grade 1 - Money!

Our Grade 1 students have had an exciting time learning all about money! Students took on the roles of both shopkeepers and customers, using play money to buy and sell a range of items with whole-dollar prices. They practised making transactions, counting money accurately, and even challenged themselves to work out the correct change after each purchase.

It was wonderful to see students confidently applying their learning in a real-life context while developing their problem-solving and communication skills. The classroom was filled with enthusiastic shoppers, friendly customer service, and plenty of mathematical thinking!

We are so proud of the confidence and independence our Grade 1 students have shown throughout our money unit. Turning our classroom into a collection of shops was a fantastic way to bring our learning to life, and we all had so much fun!
