CLEVER CLASS
Our Grade One students are learning about narratives this term by reading fairy tales and observing that each story includes a beginning, middle and end. The students have retold the story of The Three Little Pigs identifying the characters' feelings and the problem. Students have enjoyed using their imaginations to build their own dream houses out of lego and sharing the natural and built features they included with their peers. Many included a magical garden, water slides and trampoline.
We have started our term thinking about Australian coins and have been identifying the appearance of each coin. We have also been using arrays and skip counting to solve addition and subtraction problems.
The students did an amazing job using inspiration from our story book creatures with features to create their own birds by cutting out shapes and thinking about how to make the bird appear that it is perched on a branch or flying.
