This week, Highvale participated in the World's Greatest Shave event on Friday, 24th July. On this day, four courageous students (Caleb Wright, Freya Hellstrom, Ishaan Kirtane and Dineth De Silva) and two teachers shaved their heads to assist this cause, raising funds for the Leukaemia foundation.  By stepping outside their comfort zones, these four students have made a meaningful contribution to something bigger than themselves. Their efforts have created a positive impact on the community and inspired others to come together in support of a shared cause.

The World's Greatest Shave, Australia's only dedicated blood cancer charity, is essentially an initiative, encouraging all to share awareness and raise funds by shaving, cutting and colouring their hair.  For over 25 years, they have been leading this campaign, helping thousands of families manage the staggering costs of medication.  They have raised $9,541,257 this year with over 12,404 participants taking a bold move this year.

With over 170 000 Australians diagnosed with blood cancer and about 17 lives lost every day, this is our moment as a community to support what truly matters. We have now surpassed 50% of our $1,000 fundraising goal. More than ever, we need the support of every single student to help us reach the finish line. Every donation, no matter how big or small, brings us one step closer to our goal and helps pave the way for life-changing research and a brighter future.
