Hi Highvale!
Welcome back to term 3 of our student leadership updates. Over the last two months, our student body has been busy working to support causes from MND to WGS.
MND Ice Bucket Challenge
Last term, the Highvale community came together to support awareness for Motor Neurone Disease through our annual MND Ice Bucket Challenge. Staff members bravely volunteered to take part, creating a fun and memorable event for all involved (even though the day was already cold enough to begin with!)
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all staff who participated and helped make the event such a success. Their willingness to get involved demonstrated the strong community spirit that exists at Highvale. We would also like to acknowledge the many students who came along to support the challenge, whether through cheering on participants, helping with organisation, or contributing to the atmosphere on the day.
A special thank you must also go to the students who volunteered their time to assist with the MND Bake Sale, held two days prior to the challenge. From baking and donating goods to helping run the stall, these students played an important role in raising both funds and awareness for an important cause. It was fantastic to see our school community unite in support of such a meaningful initiative.
This year was one of our most successful challenges to date as our community raised over $1000 to help the cause and spread awareness.
World's Greatest Shave Bake Sale
On the 22nd of July, Highvale students and staff showed incredible generosity and school spirit during the World's Greatest Shave Bake Sale. The event was a tremendous success, attracting a massive turnout from across the school community and raising valuable funds to support those impacted by blood cancer.
The bake sale featured a range of delicious homemade treats, with students and staff eagerly lining up throughout the day to support the cause. The overwhelming response highlighted the compassion and willingness of our community to make a positive difference. Thank you to everyone who baked, donated, purchased items, or helped organise the event. Your contributions helped create a successful fundraiser and demonstrated the values of kindness and service that are so strongly embedded within our school.
Highvale's Got Talent is Coming!
Excitement is beginning to build as we look ahead to Highvale's Got Talent in Week 5 of Term 3. Students have already started preparing performances and showcasing the creativity, confidence, and talent that make our school community so unique. From music and dance to comedy and specialty acts, this year's event promises to be filled with entertainment and school spirit. We encourage everyone to get involved and come along to support our talented performers. We can't wait to see what amazing acts take to the stage!
