Learning and Teaching

Learning Walks

As part of the Mathematics Acceleration Program, our Year Two teacher, Miss Allaf, recently participated in a Learning Walk supported by Cassie Dirckze and Jan Walker, a MACS Consultant. This involved visiting the classroom to see teaching and learning in action, helping us understand how students are supported across the school.

Learning walks allow us to recognise strengths, identify areas for growth, and guide future professional learning. They also encourage collaboration among teachers, building a shared understanding of effective practices and supporting consistency in how the curriculum is delivered.

Most importantly, learning walks promote reflection and continuous improvement, helping to strengthen teaching and enhance student outcomes. It is wonderful to see the rich learning happening in our classroom, supported by our dedicated teachers. We are very proud!

Celebration of Learning

Earlier this term, we held an Open Morning as a new way to replace our Celebration of Learning, and it was a wonderful success. Parents were invited into classrooms at drop-off time to share in their child’s learning, creating an engaging start to the day. Throughout the year, we will continue to provide a variety of opportunities for students to showcase their learning with their families, so please keep an eye on the newsletter for upcoming events.

In the meantime, please ensure you are connected to your child’s SeeSaw Journal, as it is regularly updated throughout the term. It’s a great way to stay informed and can also be used to spark meaningful conversations about your child’s learning journey at home.

With thanks
