Walk to School Bus
Thank you to all the students who joined the walking school bus this term. It has been such a lovely way to start each day. We will pause the Walking School Bus for Terms 2 and 3, but resume again when the weather warms up in Term 4.
Thank you to all the students who joined the Walking School Bus this term—it’s been such a positive and enjoyable way to start each day. Walking to school together is an opportunity to build friendships and arrive at school feeling calm and ready to learn. We also appreciate the support from staff who helped make this initiative possible.
Parent Support Group Meetings
Over the past couple of weeks, we have conducted our termly Parent Support Group Meetings. These meetings are for the families of students with specific learning goals that support them in achieving success at school.
This strong partnership between home and school is an integral part of helping each student reach their full potential. By working together, we are able to share insights, celebrate successes, and plan meaningful next steps. Parent Support Group Meetings provide an opportunity for open and collaborative discussions, where families and staff can reflect on what is working well and identify areas for continued growth. We value the input and involvement of families, as their knowledge and support play a vital role in student success.
Thank you to all the families who attended and contributed to these important conversations. Your ongoing partnership and commitment make a significant difference in supporting positive outcomes for our students. If you received an invitation to book a meeting and have not yet done so, please contact Mrs Thredgold, and we will arrange a meeting early next term
What is Harmony Day?
In Weeks 8 and 9, we celebrated Harmony Week with a variety of engaging activities across both weeks. These sessions focused on recognising and celebrating the rich multiculturalism of Australia, as well as within our own St Brigid’s community. Students explored how our community is made up of many different cultures and reflected on the many positives of living in such a diverse society. The theme of Harmony Week, “Everyone Belongs,” was clearly reflected not only in our wonderful display in the hall, showcasing the many nationalities within our school, but also in the thoughtful and inspiring quotes shared by our students.
“We sang a Pevan and Sarah Harmony Day song. We are better when we play together” - Molly Foundation
“We learned about how everyone lives in Harmony. Everybody needs to be kind” - Alice Year 1
“We all have to be respectful to each other by saying kind words and helping each other using our active listening” - Archie Year 2
“Everyone deserves the same rights, not matter what colour their skin is or where they come from” - Ben Year 3/4
“We celebrate cultural differences, it doesn’t matter where we come from or our background because we are all human!” - Asher Year 5/6
With thanks
