GEC welcomes you to the 2025 Senior School
I would like to officially welcome all parents and students of Senior School students to the 2025 school year. We will aim to build on the success of our 2024 Year 12 students where our median study score maintained at 31 and 19.3% of students achieved an ATAR above 90! Congratulations to our 2024 Unit 3 and 4 students for achieving these fantastic results. Congratulations to previous year 12 teachers who worked tirelessly to provide the necessary climate for these successful results.
My name is Clinton Chiumello, I am the Senior School Leader for Term 1 this year. Mr Micallef will be returning in Term 2 as the Senior School Leader. In aligning to our themes at GEC of Learn – Grow – Connect, I would like to encourage families to connect with these throughout the year. I would like to emphasise “Learn” in this first term as students start out in a new year level which brings new knowledge and skills that students can grow and connect with in future. Some simple ways we encourage starting the year on a positive note behaviourally is by attending all classes on time, completing the set work and wearing the correct school uniform every day.
I have encouraged students to approach their new subjects and teachers with positive anticipation as their teachers have spent significant time preparing engaging courses so students can improve and grow. Some simple ways students can have a positive start academically is by listening to their teachers and following their instructions carefully.
If any of you have any feedback, suggestions, queries or concerns, I would like to encourage you to contact the school. I say this as I strongly believe in student voice and agency as well as supporting students to achieve their goals. Best wishes for the 2025 academic year at GEC.
Clinton Chiumello
Senior School Leader (Term 1)
