3-4 Class

(Miss Sahyoune)

The term is progressing quickly, and next week our students will be heading off on school camp — an exciting opportunity for learning, teamwork and personal growth.

In Literacy, students have been reading the book Finding Our Heart. This beautifully illustrated text introduces students to the Uluru Statement from the Heart and encourages thoughtful discussion about Australia’s history, reconciliation, and the importance of working together to build a shared and harmonious future.

In Mathematics, students have been strengthening their understanding of fractions, including identifying and creating a range of fraction types. It has been wonderful to see the significant progress made by all students. This week, students will begin exploring length and area through a variety of hands-on learning experiences using formal metric measurement tools such as rulers.

In Geography, students have been investigating the world’s biomes and researching the unique characteristics of each environment, including climate, weather patterns, vegetation, and animal life.

Students in Years 3 and 4 have also continued to enjoy participating in Swimming, Bushplay, and the Paddock to Plate/Kitchen Garden programs, which provide valuable opportunities for active, experiential learning.
