Holy Cross News

Dear Parents,
What a whirlwind it has been at Holy Cross this week! With copper theft and the resulting closure of the school, we have certainly been tested. I am so appreciative of everyone's understanding and support over what was a challenging period for our school and community. Whilst this was completely out of our control, we still acknowledge that closing because of lack of power does put stress on families. Thankfully, we had an amazing group of workers and support from MACS that helped us get back so quickly- this is not the experience of every school as you may know!
I want to also acknowledge Eloise being on unexpected leave, and hope she knows the whole community is thinking of her. As you will have read, in her absence I will be stepping into the Acting Principal role. I am extremely well supported by our incredible staff and MACS leadership. Please know, the school will be in strong hands. Also know that we will keep you informed about Eloise.
Over the next four weeks, alongside amazing academic learning, we will be going back to basics with our Positive behaviour for Learning (PBL). I wanted to give you a sneak peak of our school values that were chosen by our school community (teachers, students and families) RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, AND RESILIENCE. These values, which will be officially launched at the start of Term 3, are what we will be looking at to continue to guide our expectations in the classroom, yard and within our school community. It should be noted that throughout these values is threaded the overarching value of kindness for all as a Catholic school built on this foundation.
Please reach out to me if you have any issues or concerns. I also want to acknowledge our amazing staff, who are working incredibly hard every single day to make this school a great place to learn and grow. I’m really looking forward to working alongside you, and our fantastic staff and children. It is a huge privilege to lead this wonderful community.

All students attending Holy Cross Primary School have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.
