Winter Meals Appeal

Thank you to our St Brendan's families for the many generous donations of non-perishable food items already received for our Winter Meals Appeal. Your kindness and support are a wonderful reflection of the love and compassion of Jesus' Sacred Heart.

This Friday, 12th June, we will proudly present these donations to Cellie Kelly from St Vincent de Paul, Shepparton following our Mass of Compassion.

Sandhurst Reconciliation Mass

On Friday, 29th May a number of our students proudly represented St Brendan’s Primary School at the Sandhurst Reconciliation Mass held at St Mel’s Parish, Shepparton. This special celebration brought together students, staff and parish representatives from across the Diocese of Sandhurst to pray, reflect and celebrate the rich cultures and stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples during National Reconciliation Week.

We were especially proud of our students who participated in the combined diocesan choir, joining voices with students from schools across Sandhurst. Their enthusiastic singing helped create a prayerful and uplifting atmosphere, enhancing the celebration and reminding all present of the importance of unity, respect and reconciliation.

The Mass was celebrated by Fr Brian Boyle, with our Parish Administrator, Fr Ronald N. Masilang, concelebrating alongside him. Together, they led a meaningful liturgy that highlighted the importance of walking together in faith, understanding and reconciliation.

The celebration was a beautiful expression of faith, community and hope, encouraging all present to continue building respectful relationships with First Nations peoples and to work towards a future grounded in justice, healing and peace.

We congratulate our students for representing St Brendan’s with such pride, reverence and enthusiasm. Their participation was a wonderful witness to our school motto, With Faith and Courage, and our commitment to being people who seek peace and pursue it.

ALL IN for Reconciliation

Art Piece

As part of National Reconciliation Week, our students worked collaboratively to create a beautiful reconciliation artefact that was proudly displayed at the Sandhurst Reconciliation Mass at St Mel’s Parish, Shepparton.

Inspired by this year's theme, "ALL IN", students contributed their artistic talents to transform a simple cross into a vibrant symbol of unity, connection and hope. Through painting, dot work and storytelling symbols, students reflected on the importance of walking together with respect, understanding and reconciliation.

The artwork features pathways, meeting places and flowing waterways, representing the many journeys, stories and cultures that come together as one community. Throughout the creative process, students demonstrated patience, teamwork and great pride as they carefully planned and completed each section of the piece.

This meaningful project provided students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of reconciliation and the importance of strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are incredibly proud of the creativity, dedication and care shown by all students involved.

As a Catholic school community, we continue to seek peace and pursue it by listening, learning and walking together in the spirit of reconciliation.

"Many paths, many stories, one community — ALL IN
