To the Rescue
After school last week, two of our Year 9 students noticed a very distressed plover bird and soon discovered the reason. The bird's baby chick was trapped in a deep drain on the school driveway. Together with some helpful members of the community they set about solving the problem. After extracting the chick, the students reunited the plover family. The baby birds' chirps on recognising its mother's call were a delight to hear for all involved. The successful reunion was a direct result of their willingness to act when something needed to be done.
Well done to Angus Magill and Fox Edwards.
