Virtual Care Pod Launches in Tenterfield
A first-of-its-kind in NSW virtual care pod is now available for the Tenterfield community to access bulk-billed psychology appointments - usually within 24-48 hours - without the need to travel.
Located outside EP Health Centre at 11 Riley Street, Tenterfield, the virtual care pod aims to improve access to mental health services for people in and around the region.
Funded through the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network’s Small Town Engagement Model (STEM) grants, the pod offers:
- Private, secure video consultations with registered HealthBright psychologists
- Bulk-billed appointments, usually available within 24-48 hours
- Access for individuals aged 14+ (ages 14–15 with parent/guardian consent)
One-off or repeat sessions as required
Patients need a GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) to access the service.
Information and Frequently Asked Questions for community members is available at https://thephn.com.au/community/tenterfield-virtual-health-care-pod.
Canberra Excursion
We are pleased to announce that we will be offering the Canberra excursion to our seniors next year. Once again, THS will significantly subsidise the trip, bringing the total cost for families to $850. This opportunity has been made possible by the generous monetary donation from the late Patricia Williams, for which we are deeply grateful. A detailed itinerary, along with information regarding deposit requirements, will be distributed in the initial weeks of 2026.
