The Sacrament of Reconciliation
Next Tuesday, 18 students from Grade 3 will be celebrating their Sacrament of Reconciliation. This sacrament, also known as a Sacrament of Healing, is a special time when we celebrate Jesus’ gift of forgiveness. It marks an important milestone in the students’ Catholic faith journey, as it is the second Sacrament in the Church. We keep these students in our prayers as they experience God’s love and mercy through Reconciliation.
October: The Month of Mary
Each year, the Church dedicates the month of October to Mary, the Mother of Jesus. During this special month, we honour Mary through prayer and reflection, particularly by praying the Rosary. The Rosary is a prayer that helps us think about important moments in the lives of Jesus and Mary, using prayers such as the Our Father and the Hail Mary.
Throughout October, students will be celebrating the Month of Mary by learning about Mary’s life and faith and by practising how to pray the Rosary. Each year level will hold their own Rosary service, where students will come together in prayer to honour Mary and offer their intentions for others.
As a school community, we give thanks for Mary’s example of love, faith, and trust in God. May her gentle presence inspire us to show kindness, compassion, and care for one another in our daily lives.
