Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday, during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

PN | Bao-An | Congratulations on a fantastic start to Term 4! You have returned to school with a positive attitude towards learning and a caring, helpful approach to everyone in our learning community. You truly live by Mary MacKillop’s saying, "See a need and do something about it," always watching to see who might need help or encouragement. 1C | Diya | For demonstrating strong collaboration skills last week. This student was a supportive partner who helped others, shared resources thoughtfully, and showed patience with her peers. On the carpet, she was a great talking partner who encouraged her partner to listen and stay engaged. She kept going when challenges arose and worked positively with others to achieve shared goals. When she finished her own work, she consistently asked if she could help others, showing kindness and initiative. Well done Diya. |
1O | Eileen | For the creativity you bring to your work each day. You always express your knowledge and ideas in imaginative and original ways, especially through your thoughtful and detailed drawings. This week, your creative artwork truly stood out during our informative writing and inquiry lessons, where you carefully drew and labelled amazing pictures of your creatures to match your facts. Well done, Eileen! Keep up the amazing work. |
2M | Mark | For being such a motivated learner this week, you have come back from the holidays with a fantastic attitude, giving your best effort to everything you do. In Maths, you began by using the CUBES strategy to work out what the question was asking. You then used the bar model strategy to solve a worded problem and show your understanding of division. Well done and keep it up, Mark! |
