Grade 3&4 The Shrine of Rememberance Excursion

On Wednesday 26 March, the Grade 3s and 4s went to the Shrine of Remembrance, and I think everybody loved it.

First, we hopped on the bus and drove to the Shrine of Remembrance. It was a long drive. When we got there, we got out of the bus and took a picture. Everyone got into their groups, and some of the groups went to see the boat, and other groups got to see how food was made and eaten. We also got to try on the clothes that the soldiers and nurses might have worn. We ate our lunch and then headed back on the bus, and everyone came back to school.

At the Shrine, we learned that if you were lost, you could find your friends by looking for your coloured flag. You could send messages to your family and friends by writing letters. For food, they got one pail and one portion of water. We thought the soldiers were very brave to give their lives for us.

Our favourite part of the excursion was the Eternal Flame. Eternal Flame never extinguishes, and it also reminded us of the sacrifice of our soldiers, who will live in our hearts forever. We also enjoyed the dressing-up room, where you could either dress up as a soldier or a nurse. The Shrine of Remembrance excursion was fun, and we would love to go there again.
