Health Centre News
Hi families and students,
In the warmer weather, the Health Centre has been seeing lots of students feeling dizzy, light-headed and “like they might faint.” Most of the time it comes down to three simple things:
✅ 1) Eat breakfast
A healthy breakfast helps your brain focus and keeps your body steady. Even something quick helps:
- cereal + milk
- toast + peanut butter
- yoghurt + fruit
- smoothie
- eggs
muesli bar + banana
✅ 2) Bring food to school (especially our High School crew!)
Please pack enough lunch/snacks for the day. We’re finding some students are running on empty by mid-morning. REMEMBER OUR BREAKFAST CLUB OPERATES DAILY!
Great options: sandwiches/wraps, fruit, crackers + cheese, yoghurt, nuts (if allowed), leftovers, muesli bars.
✅ 3) Drink water through the day
Hot days + sport + running around = you lose water fast. Please bring a refillable drink bottle and sip regularly.
✅ 4) Dress for the weather
We’re noticing students still wearing jumpers on hot days. This can make you overheat quickly.
- If it’s warm: lighter layers, hat outside, jumper off when you can.
Keep a jumper in your bag for cooler mornings, but please don’t cook yourself by lunchtime 😊
🚩 Please see the Health Centre if you feel:
dizzy, nauseous, shaky, headachey, “seeing stars,” or like you might faint.
Let’s keep everyone feeling strong, safe and ready to learn! 💛
Kind regards,
Nurse Jayde & Nurse Kristy
