School Wide Positive Behaviour Support
To start 2026 our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support focus has been “I wear my uniform with pride.”
Our Special Education students have been excelling wearing their uniforms with pride following the College focus. This has made it difficult to select only one student from each class to receive the award.
Here are some of our Week 3 award winners - congratulations to everyone!
Our Week 4 focus has been "I will keep trying if I find the work challenging".
Following the swimming carnival on Tuesday 17th February, our Special Education students have continued to demonstrate outstanding effort both in and out of the classroom.
Whether it was bravely swimming for the first time, enthusiastically trying a new craft, or staying focused to complete a lesson, each student showed determination, resilience, and a willingness to give their very best.
We are incredibly proud of their positive attitudes and the way they embrace new challenges.
Here are some of Week 4 classroom winners.
Leadership Assembly
We held our 2026 Leadership Assembly on Monday 16 February and our guest, Mitchell Shire Mayor Cr. John Dougall, and Assistant Principal Kristie Luckman, presented our Special Education and secondary students with their badges. They were:
1. Special Education College Captains - Jacinta Swan and Luke Dreier
2. Special Education Vice College Captains - Oisin O’Sullivan and Jordan Murphy.
Congratulations to you all and we look forward to your leadership in 2026.
SM Science Experiement
For our science lesson, we are starting to look at particles, the importance of particles and what they do. To start off the lesson, Phil sprayed some air freshener, so that students could see the particles, as they are released from the can.
As a class we participated in a couple of experiments. As we were conducting these, we made sure that we were listening to Phil, which meant being aware that there was hot water was on the table, and taking turns patiently.
Hot water with food dye = mixing straight away
Cold water with food dye = colours separate when being added, slow to mix
Hot water with bi-carb soda = mixing and bubbling after being stirred
Cold water with bi-carb soda = didn’t change much
Hot water with cornflour = started to thicken as soon as it was being stirred
Cold water with cornflour = Phil was struggling to stir it, as it was setting or becoming hard quick
We enjoyed all the experiments!
