What a fantastic day we had at this year’s Mordialloc College Swimming Carnival! Held at the excellent facilities at Oakleigh Recreation Centre, the event was filled with colour, energy, sportsmanship and unforgettable moments.
From the start, house pride was on full display. Students arrived in creative costumes featuring wigs, face paint and coordinated outfits, creating a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere. The effort and enthusiasm set the tone for a day focused on participation and fun.
A special thank you to Kingston Youth Services for joining us and contributing to the positive community spirit of the day.
In the pool, the standard of competition was outstanding across all year levels. Whether racing for a win or simply giving it their best shot, every student showed determination and courage. The Year 12 events were a highlight, particularly the always entertaining staff vs student race. Despite a valiant effort from our staff swimmers, the students claimed bragging rights this year!
A standout moment was the entire Year 12 cohort jumping into the pool together - a wonderful display of unity and celebration in their final year. Their leadership and enthusiasm throughout the day set a fantastic example. And of course, we can’t forget the surprise appearance of a duck in the pool, which added some unexpected fun!
Most impressive of all was the outstanding behaviour and support shown by students. The cheering, encouragement and house spirit truly reflected the best of Mordialloc College.
Congratulations to this year’s Swimming Carnival Champions, Iwala, on a successful winning day.
