Welcome to Week 6! It is hard to believe that we are over halfway through our first term of 2026.

Year 7 Families: Meet and Greet

On Wednesday 4th March, I had the opportunity to meet our Year 7 families, it was an absolute privilege to welcome them to our fabulous Mordialloc College community. The event was designed and delivered by the Junior School team, and families were able to meet Year 7 teachers, Student Services, House Captains, Mordialloc College Student Council Captains, and IT. A big thanks to our Year 7 families for connecting with us, we are so happy to start off our relationship with you on such a strong footing.

ArtsTech Building Project.

Construction is about to begin on our $12.6 million ArtsTech project, a double-storey bespoke arts and technology building that aims to give our students a spectacular learning environment with classrooms and learning spaces that are fully designed for purpose.

The building will feature two Food Tech rooms, a dining/breakout space for Food Tech, and classrooms for Visual Communication, Media, Textiles, Visual Arts, a media recording room, staff offices, and individual student toilet cubicles.

The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) has appointed Newton Manor Constructions P/L to build this project. We expect the construction work to begin over the End of Term 2 break, with a date for completion forecast for Term 3, 2027.

Please contact the VSBA if you have specific questions about the construction works. They are more than happy to answer any queries you may have, and can be contacted by calling 1800 896 950, emailing vsba@education.vic.gov.au or visiting

Celebrating Mordialloc College Students

MordiFest 2026

If you headed to MordiFest on 1st March, you will have been lucky enough to hear Minor Delays, our Mordialloc College band! The band was amazing and our students were all so happy to share how well their classmates had performed. The band came second in the event - well done Minor Delays!!

Graecian H - Representing Australia in Baseball

We’re excited to share that Graecian has achieved several significant milestones in his baseball journey this year. Not only has he been selected to represent Charter in two upcoming Victorian State tournaments, he has also been chosen to represent Australia on the U16 Kangaroos Baseball Tour to Japan this July.

This is an incredible accomplishment for him. Graecian began playing baseball with the Cheltenham Baseball Club just three years ago, and his passion for the sport continues to grow. His long term goal is to pursue College Baseball in the USA and ultimately work towards becoming an MLB player.

Sonny R - Representing for Wheel Chair Tennis

Sonny has previously represented Australia in Wheel Chair Tennis and this year, has been selected to attend a Tennis Australia elite wheelchair tennis camp.

This is another fantastic opportunity for Sonny, and we can’t wait to hear how the camp goes!

Headlines (Year 12 2024)

We hold tours for prospective families throughout the term (bookable via our Front Office on mordialloc.co@education.vic.gov.au) and, I am often asked to share our destination data; our VCE and VCE-VM students had a lot to celebrate including:

  • 103 degree offers (74 single degrees, 25 double degrees, 4 associate degrees)
  • 12 diploma offers through VTAC
  • 15 direct entry diploma applications through TAFE

Our 2025 students have gone on to study a wide range of subjects that reflect the broad based curriculum, and personalised pathways that we have on offer. Those routes of study include Business, Arts, Architecture, Engineering (again, the most popular route for Mordialloc College students) Science, Education, Psychology & Social Work, Criminology & Legal, Exercise Science & Sport, Nursing, and Music & Media.

Institutions for our 2025 students included ACU, Deakin University, Monash University, RMIT, Swinburne, University of Melbourne and Victoria University.

We wish all of our prior students every success in their next step, we are so proud to have had something to do with their success.

As Station Street will be closed for nearly the last three weeks of Term 1, now is a good time to consider how this may impact your journey to and from the college.

With an expected level crossing closure that starts May 1st, there will absolutely be more disruptions as we move into Term 2,  We will send pertinent information via our normal channels, but you can also sign up for email updates, text MRD on 0429 839 892 to receive SMS updates, call the Level Crossing Project on 1800 105 105, or email levelcrossings@bigbuild.vic.gov.au

I really do hope that you have a wonderful fortnight.
