Dear Marian Catholic College Community,
This week we farewelled Year 12 in their final official week of school at Marian. This included a whole school mass and then a formal assembly, with invitations to parents and carers to join us at the College to farewell and celebrate our Year 12 students.
Next term Year 12 will return as graduates to sit the HSC, before celebrating at the graduate dinner on Friday 13th of November. This is preceded by mass on Friday, at Sacred Heart Church, with a group photo in the parish gardens and then onto the Yoogali Club.
Reflecting on Year 12 2026, we note that each student has walked a unique journey. No matter their circumstances, this year's group has demonstrated strength, courage, and the ability to overcome challenges while constantly supporting each other.
Students now step out as young adults into a world of rapid change and challenge. In navigating these complexities, coming back to core truths and values will keep students grounded. To assist with this, Year 12 have the support of their families and their friends, of the Griffith community they live in and from this College.
The students have received an excellent education centered in the Catholic faith, the love of God, and Christ Jesus, in core values, and the Marian Way. This environment has supported all types of learners across sports, arts, vocational pathways, academics, and social justice. Our hope is that students have learned to think critically, listen with empathy, weigh core values, and seek evidence when making decisions. We also hope that they become discerning, and ever more loving and wise as they mature in life.
The school's Marist charism teaches us patience and presence, while our Mercy focus highlights the impact of approaching life with compassion and practical support. We hope these values continue to guide Year 12 throughout their lives. In return, Year 12 has brought immense joy, fun, determination, and strong community spirit to the College.
As the students conclude their schooling, we would like to acknowledge the support from everyone who has shared in their journey— families, friends, teachers, leaders, mentors, and support staff. It truly takes a village, and this village is immensely proud of the resilient young adults that Year 12 have become.
I would also like to thank Ms Reynolds (Year 12 Pastoral Leader), Assistant Principal-Mrs Segrave, Yr 12 homeroom teachers, Mr Abdala and all senior teachers, leaders and support staff for the incredible work and support to make Year 12’s final year and their final weeks so very special.
In conclusion, Marian Catholic College extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to Year 12, 2026, as they step into the world to flourish, contribute, to love, care and laugh, and to live their lives.

These students have also demonstrated excellent leadership at school and during the application process. Their specific roles, which have already been awarded, will be announced next term, once remaining house and prefect processes are finalised with the cohort.
