A Wonderful Term of Learning, Community and Celebration
As Term 3 comes to a close, I would like to take a moment to thank our wonderful SJV families for another busy, successful and joyful term.
It has been a term filled with so many opportunities for our students to learn, grow, have fun and connect with our community. From the excitement of our Art Show, to the creativity and enthusiasm of Book Week, our wonderful Father’s Day afternoon, and our Grade 3–6 swimming program, there has certainly never been a dull moment!
We have also enjoyed our Maths Afternoon, where families had the opportunity to come together and experience the joy of learning mathematics with their children. These opportunities to learn together strengthen the wonderful partnership between home and school that is such an important part of our SJV community.
There have been countless other moments throughout the term that have made us proud — students challenging themselves in their learning, demonstrating our SJV values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.
I would also like to extend a huge thank you to our dedicated SJV staff. So much time, care, creativity and energy goes into providing these wonderful experiences for our students, and I am incredibly grateful for all that they do.
As we head into the school holidays, I hope every family has the opportunity to rest, recharge and enjoy some special time together. Our students have worked hard this term and deserve a well-earned break.

Condolences
We send all our love and prayers to Emma May and her husband Lance on the passingofher father-in-law, Brian May. The funeral was held on Friday 11/09/2026.
Assembly Awards
This week's deserving winners were Matthan from 1/2 for the polite way he hold himself- always demonstrating respect and responsibility.
Khushleen from 5/6 because she is a good friend who is always kind to others.
Art Show
What a wonderful display of creativity, imagination and talent at our SJV Art Show! It was such a joy to see our school community come together to celebrate the incredible artwork created by our students.
A very special thank you to Paula Perkins for her wonderful leadership, passion and dedication in bringing the Art Show together. We also thank all the staff who supported the students and contributed to making the afternoon such a success. We also thank our Art Captains Giorgiana and Hayden for their help preparing for the day.
Thank you to our SJV families for coming along and sharing in this special celebration. Most importantly, congratulations to our students on their fantastic work. Their creativity, enthusiasm and pride were evident throughout the exhibition, and they should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
Marc McBride Competition
Congratulations to our competition winners, Alex (5/6K) and Varis (3/4TG). Varis used a spray paint gun to create his incredible dragon artwork, while Alex brought his dragon to life using the Sketchbook app. Their creativity and imagination have earned them an original dragon artwork by illustrator Marc McBride.
Congratulations also to our raffle winner, Thompson (5/6G), who today takes home another of Marc's amazing dragons!

MACSSIS Survey
Last week, you will have received an email with details on how to access this annual survey. The email was sent to the primary email address we have on file for your family. Exciting News!
We have some wonderful news to share! Thanks to the success of our 2025 Carnival and our upcoming Term 4 fundraising event- the Colour Fun Run, we have been able to secure a brand-new sandpit area, complete with an outdoor play kitchen for our students to enjoy.
Construction is scheduled to commence during the Christmas school holidays, and we are so excited to see this fantastic new play space come to life. A huge thank you to our wonderful SJV community for your generosity and support in helping us make this possible!
Connor’s Run
A huge thank you to all of our SJV staff, students and families who participated in Connor’s Run. It was wonderful to see so many members of our community come together, have fun and support such an important cause. Our team raised $3575.
We are incredibly proud of the generosity, enthusiasm and community spirit shown by everyone who took part. Well done, SJV!
