Grant Funding Opportunity

Funding opportunity for Pony Clubs

The Australian Government’s Stronger Communities Programme (SCP) Round 10 is now open, providing grants of $2,500 to $20,000 for eligible infrastructure and community projects.

The program aims to strengthen local communities by supporting projects that provide social benefits and improve community participation, facilities, accessibility and infrastructure.

Could your Pony Club be eligible?

Incorporated not-for-profit organisations, including incorporated clubs and associations, can be eligible to apply. Clubs should check the full Round 10 Grant Opportunity Guidelines to confirm their eligibility before pursuing a nomination.

What could Pony Clubs seek funding for?

Sporting and community infrastructure

Construction, fit-outs, alterations, equipment and improvements to sporting grounds and community facilities.

Access and inclusive facilities

Disability access, accessible amenities, women’s facilities, gender-neutral facilities and other improvements that make community facilities more inclusive.

First aid and safety

Defibrillators, first-aid equipment and improvements to first-aid rooms or facilities.

Energy, climate and biodiversity

Energy-efficient appliances and windows, renewable energy and storage, native vegetation, biodiversity infrastructure, heat-management upgrades and shade sails.

Technology and communications

Websites, software, CRM systems, audio-visual equipment, ICT equipment and associated electrical works.

These categories could potentially support projects that make Pony Club facilities safer, more accessible, sustainable and useful to members and the broader community, subject to the project meeting all program requirements.

Before applying

If your club is invited to apply, it will need to:

  • apply for the project and grant amount agreed to and nominated by the local MP
  • provide all mandatory supporting documents and attachments
  • demonstrate that the project meets the program outcomes and objectives
  • ensure proposed expenditure relates to eligible activities
  • complete the project by 31 March 2028.

Working with another organisation

Clubs may also partner with one or more organisations to deliver a project.

However, the lead organisation must be invited to apply and meet the program’s eligibility and merit requirements.

The lead organisation is responsible for completing the application and, if successful, signing the grant agreement and ensuring the project complies with its conditions.
