Altona College Art Showcase
On the last two days of term our Prep to year 10 students showcased their amazing creative skills. The showcase brings together a range of art from drawing to print making to sculpture and music! What a delight it was to see so many families visiting. The students have received so much positive feedback about their amazing works of art. We certainly have a lot of very talented and creative artists at Altona College and it has been wonderful watching them take so much pride in the work they had on display.
The showcase involved:
- An immersive natural water life display made from recycled materials, created by the Prep students.
- A mural of colour, shapes and lines produced by the 5/6 students.
- Yayoi Kusama inspired abstract sculptures, crafted by the year 3's.
- Year 3/4 made beautiful foam prints and clay tiles, inspired by the culture of the Pacific Islands.
- Year 7's made intricate lino bug prints and oil pastel drawings.
- Year 8s worked hard to create tonal realistic portraits.
- Year 9s took inspiration from Surrealism to design and make clay hands, with a twist!
- Year 10s delved into an understanding of culture to create sculptural portraits.
Congratulations to all students - the work reflects their dedication, effort and enjoyment for art!
