Years 3 & 4 Mass in Maths

Last week, Years 3 and 4 students were learning all about mass in Maths. They applied their knowledge to the real life context of making playdough. They had a great time and food dyed hands to prove it.

5/6 STEM Incursion

The 5/6 students recently participated in a two-part STEM incursion that focused on learning about disability and creating solutions to make the world more accessible for everyone. In part one, Mary, a woman who has lived with a disability her entire life, shared her story, as the students learnt about what it means to be disabled and the struggles that a disabled person faces on a daily basis. In part two, students were tasked with the challenge of creating their own solutions to overcome common problems experienced by people with disabilities. As part of this, students needed to also prototype their solutions and then present their inventions to their peers, explaining what they had developed.

Thank you to Tikkun Olam Makers Melbourne for facilitating the incursion.
