Calder Athletics (F-6)
Last Thursday, students from across the Calder cluster came together at Charlton Park for the 2026 Calder Athletics Carnival. It was a great day of competition, with plenty of strong performances and fantastic participation across all age groups. Charlton College had an excellent day, taking out the Overall Shield and finishing 2nd in the Relay Shield.

Well done to all of our Charlton College students who competed throughout the day. It was great to see brilliant attendance across year levels, everyone having a go and supporting one another.

NCD Athletics (7-12)
Charlton College students competed at the North Central District Athletics at Charlton Park on Friday 14 August, with plenty of strong performances across the day.
A huge congratulations to our two Age Group Champions:
- Sophie R. – 13 Years Female, 48 points
- Heidi S. – 17 Years Female, 104 points
Charlton recorded 12 individual event wins across the carnival:
- Erin B. – 15 Years Female Discus – 19.54m
- Rosie F. – 14 Years Female Javelin – 25.00m
- Murphy F. – 16 Years Male Javelin – 34.65m
- Toby B. – 13 Years Male Long Jump – 3.99m and Discus – 24.95m
- Heidi S. – 17 Years Female Long Jump – 4.10m, Triple Jump – 9.43m, Discus – 30.05m, 200m – 30.69, Shot Put – 8.69m, Javelin – 34.32m, and Open Female 400m – 1:11.00
It was also a big day for the record books, with Charlton students setting five new NCD records:
- Erin B. – 15 Years Female Discus – 19.54m (previous record 18.40m)
- Toby B. – 13 Years Male Discus – 24.95m (previous record 21.80m)
- Heidi S. – 17 Years Female Triple Jump – 9.43m (previous record 9.41m)
- Heidi S. – 17 Years Female Discus – 30.05m (previous record 20.75m)
- Heidi S. – 17 Years Female Javelin – 34.32m (previous record 21.72m)
Overall, Charlton College finished 6th out of nine schools with 505.5 points.
A massive well done to all students who represented the college throughout the day. Regardless of placings, it was great to see everyone having a go, competing and contributing points towards our overall result.
Progressing students, will now take part in the Loddon Mallee Secondary Track & Field Championships in Bendigo on Thursday 17 September.
