Da Vinci Decathlon

The Da Vinci Decathlon is an academic competition designed to challenge and extend students across a wide range of disciplines. Students have been meeting regularly this term and working in teams to come up with solutions to complex questions and puzzles.
Thank you to all the students who came to the Da Vinci Club with a spirit of inquiry and a willingness to take on challenges.
On the 18th and 20th March, four teams from years 7-10 attended the Da Vinci Decathlon event held at Scots All Saints in Bathurst. It was a tremendously early start with the road closure, especially for those coming from down the Mountains. The teams tackled English, Science, Creative Producers and Ideation in the first session. Maths, Art & Poetry, Engineering and Cartography in the second session. While the third and final session involved a general knowledge quiz and code breaking. Our teams thought critically and creatively, all the while working positively as a team. These students showed determination to come up with solutions to extremely difficult problems with the added pressure of limited time.
Congratulations to our teams who all finished with a placing in their age grouping.
Year 7 - 2nd Place
Year 8 - 2nd Place
Year 9 - 2nd Place
Year 10 - 3rd Place
Our consistent success reflected the positive teamwork and determination of all our students.
Well done to everyone involved.
