Science & Engineering Challenge

Our Year 10 students recently had the opportunity to participate in the Science and Engineering Challenge, an engaging hands-on extension program designed to challenge and inspire students.

Throughout the day, students worked in teams to tackle a series of fun yet demanding challenges. These tasks included designing wind turbines, optimising fish traps, wiring efficient electricity networks, creating a versatile plane design, designing a multifunctional ecohabitat building and creating a moving and grabbing hand from simple materials such as string, cups and straws. The day culminated in the bridge building activity and it was exciting to see our team's 92g bridge take a weight of over 5kg, before finally succumbing to the bridge buster ingot 8.5kg. These activities encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented the school, demonstrating resilience, ingenuity, and a positive attitude throughout the day.

Well done, Year 10!
