Camping in the City

The Melbourne Camp will be remembered for much more than clear winter weather and walkathon experience. We ate well throughout: Crane Restaurant in Chinatown, ‘Grilld’ served up fine burgers and Yassa’s souvlaki left many students craving a second serving. Of course, this favourite teenage pastime meant visits to food courts and other snacks along the way.

Student feedback highlighted ice-skating, accommodation, squeezing seventy- five bodies onto trams, the MCG tour, The Melbourne Zoo, free time and hanging out with friends. In fact, the list of memorable activities was vast and even ‘sleep’ scored a mention. We have included some photos to capture a few moments of culture, friendship, co-operation and learning. Thanks to Doxa Youth Foundation and their generous sponsors who are committed to seeing all children have the opportunity to afford camp.
