Before and Afterschool Care

Hello Families,

We hope you have had an amazing fortnight!

Potion Club 

Potion Club kicked off this week with a Sleeping Potion. Children got to create a potion with essential oils including lavender to spray on their pillows before they got to sleep. They really enjoyed this activity and they were very excited to show their families! So far, Potion club has been a huge Success.

 STEM Club 

Students have explored exciting experiments in STEM club this week! During before school care the children explored Magic Milk. The children haven’t heard of this experiment so they were curious on what was going to happen. They mixed milk with drops of food colouring and then added dish soap, an explosion of colours occurred! 

During After School Care students made oobleck, children debated whether it was a solid or a liquid. Students then recorded all observation in their STEM journal that is available at the service to view! 

In the next few weeks, students will be starting to create a boat for the TeamKids boat off which is due 3rd September. We will be making a boat that floats on water that will compete against other TK services! 

Culture Club

Last week we did culture club and visited our first country of the Term, Italy! 

In culture club we did a series of activities including Mosaic artworks and making pizza dough. The children filled out their passports that we made in previous weeks and received a stamp to show they have completed this country to document individual experiences. Children also had the opportunity to share knowledge on what they know about Italy. We spoke about landmarks including the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Colosseum. 

Children have been excited to continue this week where we will be visiting Japan! 

Pupil Free Day 

On Friday 22nd August, Teamkids will be open from 7am- 6.30pm. We have a range of activities planned including Slime making and book week themed activities! Come along to join in on the fun!
