Foundation 2025 Transition

Exciting times! Yesterday we welcomed our Foundation students for 2026 to their first transition session. The theme for the afternoon was ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. They were all extremely excited and bubbling with enthusiasm. We look forward to having them all return on Wednesday 10th September when the theme will be ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’.

Aerobics

The excitement continues to build as final preparations are being made for the upcoming FISAF National Championships at the Gold Coast on Saturday 30th August. Our Aerobics teams have been training hard; we wish them all the very best for the competition ahead. Go Syndal!!

Upcoming Working Bee

We have a ‘Working Bee’ planned for Sunday 14th September from 9.00 to 11.00am. Some of the tasks we have planned are sweeping, raking, spreading mulch and lots more.  The more people we have attend the more work will get done.  A light morning tea will be provided.  Students that attend the working bee can go into the draw to win a prize.

2025 Parents / Caregivers / Guardians Survey

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

All parents/caregivers/guardians are invited to participate in this year’s survey. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 25th August to Friday 19th September 2025. A direct link to the survey will be sent to parents, carers, and guardians via Compass on Monday.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages. Please we would like as many parents as possible to fill in the survey. Thank you.

Toilet Capital Works Update

Some great news! The Toilet Upgrade will begin over the weekend. Alternative toilet arrangements have been made, and all the students are aware of these.

Book Week

We are all very much looking forward to our Book Week celebrations. We will be having our annual Book Week Dress Up Parade on Monday 25th August at 9.00 am. Mrs Panagopolous has organised for Ben Wood a well-known children’s book illustrator to visit and discuss his work with all the students.

Donut Day

Our wonderful SRC raised $542 selling delicious donuts to all our hungry donut eaters. As previously mentioned, the money raised will ensure our HARMONY Poster will be framed for display in the school foyer.

Writing Celebration

This afternoon all our talented writers shared their published writing pieces with the parents who were able to attend.

Pupil Free Day

Finally, a reminder that tomorrow Friday 22nd August is our Pupil Free Day. The teachers will be working again with Andrea Hillbrick. Andrea has been working with the staff over a number of years focusing on the whole school approach to Writing and Reading. Tomorrow the focus is on Reading and Vocabulary.

Old Frog Tank

Now that the frogs have settled into their new, luxurious frog tank we have the old tank available to anyone who would like it.  If you are interested, please let the Office know as soon as possible. A small donation to the school would be most appreciated. The first offer received will be accepted.

Enjoy the fortnight ahead.
