Principals' Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Week 8. It is hard to believe that there are just three more weeks of school before the end of term holiday break! Next week, our Transition Program begins for the 2026 Kindergarten class. We look forward to welcoming our new students and their families to the St Joseph's community as they prepare for their official start to 'big school' next year.
Happy Father's Day
What an amazing turn out by our school community! A massive thank you to all of our amazing father's, grandfather's and family members who attended our Father's Day Breakfast last Friday. We hope you all enjoyed a very happy Father's Day yesterday and were able to celebrate with the special people in your lives.
Thank you to our wonderful Parents and Friends Association for their assistance with our Father's Day BBQ and for coordinating the Father's Day Stall. It was delightful to see the enthusiasm, satisfaction and joy on the faces of our students after deciding on a gift to show their appreciation for the fabulous male role models in their lives.
We always value the opportunity to welcome parents and carers into our school as we celebrate our vibrant and supportive school community. We appreciate your ongoing involvement in your child's educational journey.
Farewell Fr Sabu
Last Sunday, after the 9am Mass, we said a final farewell to Father Sabu as he begins his new role in the Maitland/Newcastle Diocese. Over the past year, we have been blessed to have him as our Parish Administrator and we thank him for his commitment and dedication to the St. Joseph's school community. His spiritual guidance and support have been invaluable, and we wish him all the very best in Newcastle.
At the same time, we would like to extend a warm welcome to Father Saji from St Nicholas Parish, who is now taking up the leadership role at St Patrick's Parish. We look forward to working with Father Saji and know that you will join us in welcoming him to our school community.
Teacher Aide Appreciation Week
Last week, we enjoyed a special assembly and morning tea to celebrate Australian Education Assistants Appreciation Week and say a big thank you to our wonderful Education Assistants; Mrs Kim Wadwell, Mrs Sumudu De Silva, Mrs Lisa Vile, Miss Jade Hewitt, Mrs Stephanie Simmons, Miss Kim Taggart, Mrs Alisha Davies, Miss Parker Munro, Miss Olivia Barton and Mrs Joanna Smith. We are extremely blessed at St Joseph's to have such an amazing team of dedicated adults working in our learning spaces each day.
Armidale Catholic Schools Tour
Last Friday we had a visit by from members of the Armidale Catholic Schools Office and student teachers from Notre Dame University and the University of New England who are completing their final practicum in our diocesan schools. As part of this experience they visited our western schools and concluded their tour with the Tamworth schools.
Wishing all members of the St Joseph's School community all the best for a great week.
